Season Rubbers (P) ltd. Koovapally., which is today known for its product “Seasons Cenex” in the Indian Rubber world, has its roots well set in the history of the Indian Rubber Industry.
Season Rubbers, was originally formed as a partnership firm by late Sri. P.C.Thomas, Pallivathukal, in the year 1964. Sri. Thomas and his brothers who hail from a family of rubber growers of central Travancore, were the pioneers of Latex Centrifuging in India, having started their unit under the style of “Pallivathukal Brothers“during the second world war. It started as a Latex Creaming factory at Koovapally, which was shortly converted to a limited company under the style of “Paratex Corporation (P) Ltd.”, Producing Centrifuged latex, Balloons, and Latex Thread.
The balloons and thread section was stopped during the early 50's, and the company continued to rule the Indian market for Centrifuged Latex supplies, till its winding up in the early 60's.
With the winding up of the business of m/s. Paratex Corporation, Shri. Thomas set up his own unit for centrifuging latex in 1964, adjoining the compound of Paratex Corporation, under the style of “Season Rubbers”. Since then “Seasons“ latex has carved out for itself a niche in the Centrifuged latex Scenario of the Indian market.
The firm was converted to a private limited company in 1975 the sons of Sri. P.C.Thomas who were in the firm, being its directors.. Under the new management, the company felt the need to expand its production, and this led to the acquisition of the property of the wound up Paratex Corporation, which was then reconstructed, and re equipped with a battery of new centrifuging machines, which were imported. A well-equipped laboratory was set up, to maintain the quality of the latex for which “Seasons” is noted.
As effluent control is a major problem of the latex centrifuging industry, the matter was taken up with the Rubber Board, and with their help, an effluent treating system was set up. The effectiveness of the system is easily noted by the absence of any obnoxious odour in the vicinity of the plant.
The raw material for the unit i.e.: normal field latex is obtained from the surrounding rubber plantations both small and large. Adequate steps are taken to ensure the quality of the latex is maintained throughout every stage of its process from tapping to packing. |
